The Reichstag dome in short
A visit to the glass dome and the roof terrace of the Reichstag building costs nothing, but you have to register before you go. There is no registration by phone. You can request a date online, or register in person at a service point on the Platz der Republik. A place is not guaranteed when you register on the spot.
This website is an independent guide. It is not the website of the German Bundestag, and it cannot register you or sell you a place. Binding information comes only from the Bundestag's own visitor service.

How registration works
Three things decide whether you get in: a registration, your ID and the time slot you hold.
Request a date online
The visitor service takes online requests for a date. Phone registration is not offered. Give name, first name and date of birth for every person in your group.
Bring your ID
For spontaneous registration, visitors aged 16 and over need a valid official photo ID. Visitors aged 14 and 15 are asked to show an identity document with a photo. Copies are not accepted. Admission is tied to the person named at registration, so it cannot be passed on.
Register on the spot
The service point on the Platz der Republik registers visitors in person. Access from the north is limited because of construction work, and there is no guarantee of a place. If you have a fixed day, request a date online instead of relying on this route.
Berlin tours that pass the Reichstag
Walking and bike tours through the government district, with live prices and availability. Check each route to see which stops are included.

Guided tours, the restaurant and costs
What is extra and what is not.
Tour fees are not an entry fee
The dome and the roof terrace are free. If you book an outside guide, that fee pays for the guide. It is not the price of admission, and you still need a registration.
The roof garden restaurant
A restaurant in the Reichstag building, run by Käfer, takes its own reservations. You do not need to eat there to visit the dome. A restaurant reservation does not remove the maintenance closures.
Getting there
The station S+U Brandenburger Tor is served by the S1, S2, S25 and S26 and by the U5. On the U5, the ride from Brandenburger Tor to Bundestag takes about 1 minute of travel time, without waiting or walking. A single ticket for Berlin AB costs €4.00 in 2026 and is valid for 120 minutes in one direction.
Plan the rest of your day
The dome fits well with the other sights around the gate.

Pariser Platz
The square behind the Brandenburg Gate and the buildings around it.

Tiergarten
Walks west of the gate, with the Victory Column and the Soviet memorial.

Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe
The field of stelae and the underground information centre.

The Brandenburg Gate
Visiting the gate, the current building work and the history of the monument.
